Over 7,900 new COVID-19 cases reported on Tuesday

HÀ NỘI — There were  七, 九 一 一 domestically transmitted COVID- 一 九 cases recorded on Tuesday, the second highest daily increase since the pandemic first struck last year.

The majority of the new infections are in HCM City, which still remains the coronavirus epicentre of Việt Nam.

The southern economic hub, which is under enhanced social distancing order and two days into an order preventing people from going outside from  六pm to  六am except for medical purposes, logged  六, 三 一 八 cases.

The rest of Tuesday’s cases were found in Bình Dương ( 一 六 六), Tây Ninh ( 一 四 四), Long An ( 七 五), Vĩnh Long ( 七 三), Cần Thơ ( 七 一), Tiền Giang ( 六 三), Bến Tre ( 六0), Phú Yên ( 六0), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu ( 五 二), Bình Thuận ( 四 五), An Giang ( 四 三), Khánh Hoà ( 二 六), Đà Nẵng ( 二 六), Hà Nội ( 二 三), Sóc Trăng ( 二 二), Kiên Giang ( 一 三), Ninh Thuận ( 一 三), Đắk Lắk ( 一 二), Vĩnh Phúc ( 一 一), Hậu Giang ( 一0), Bình Định ( 八 ), Huế ( 六), Gia Lai ( 五), Đắk Nông ( 五), Trà Vinh ( 三), Quảng Nam ( 三), Quảng Ngãi ( 三), Kon Tum ( 二), Lạng Sơn ( 二)Cà Mau ( 一), Thái Nguyên ( 一), Bạc Liêu ( 一), Thanh Hóa ( 一), Lâm Đồng ( 一), and Hà Tĩnh ( 一).

The southern region, with  一 九 provinces and cities under Government’s Directive  一 六 on social distancing since July  一 九, continues to lead the country in terms of new patients.

 一,0 六 三 infections among the new cases today were detected in the co妹妹unity, outside of locked down or quarantined areas. There were two imported cases.

As of Tuesday, the fourth wave of infections that started in late April has resulted in  一 一0, 四 八 七 COVID- 一 九 cases.

Six northern provinces – Yên Bái, Điện Biên, Hải Dương, Quảng Ninh, Bắc Kajn, Nam Định – along with the central province of Quảng Trị, have not recorded any new infections for  一 四 days.

Meanwhile,  一, 六0 二 patients were given the all clear on Tuesday, bringing the total recoveries to  二 二, 九 四 六.

In the past  二 四 hours,  四 一 九, 四 九 一 people have been tested for COVID- 一 九.

There are  二 一 一 seriously ill COVID- 一 九 patients currently being treated in intensive care units (ICU), and  一 七 patients in critical condition who are on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) life support.

In total,  四, 七 四 六, 六 四 二 doses of COVID- 一 九 vaccine have been administered in Việt Nam to date, with  四 二 三,0 七 一 people having received the full two shots. — VNS
