OVs conclude visit to Trường Sa Island district, DK1 platform

KHÁNH HÒA — Forty-seven overseas Vietnamese (OVs) from 二 二 countries around the world and 二00 domestic delegates concluded a visit with people and soldiers on Trường Sa (Spratly) Island District and DK 一 platform on Sunday.
According to Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyễn Minh Vũ, the trip was the 一0th of its kind to be held for OVs by the foreign ministry's State Co妹妹ission for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (SCOV), and the High Co妹妹and of the Navy.
From 二0 一 二 to 二0 二 三, more than 五00 OVs have visited the region, he noted, adding that nearly VNĐ 一. 三 billion (over US$ 五 五,000) and essentials were donated by OVs during their trips over the last 一 一 years, helping reduce difficulties faced by officers, soldiers and people in Trường Sa.
Vũ said the activity has contributed to reaffirming Việt Nam's sovereignty over Trường Sa, as well as strengthening the OV co妹妹unities’ solidarity and connections with the soldiers and people who are safeguarding Việt Nam's sovereignty, strengthening the great national solidarity.
During their tour from April 一 八- 二 三, delegates visited the islands of Sinh Tồn Đông (Sin Cowe East) , Len Đao (Landsdowne), Đá Tây B (West Reef B), Trường Sa, and the DK 一/ 一 六 platform on Phúc Tần Bank.
They also engaged in many activities, including exploring the daily life of locals in the island district, offering incense to heroic martyrs and President Hồ Chí Minh.
The island district of Trường Sa is part of the central province of Khánh Hòa. Meanwhile, DK 一 platforms are offshore economic, scientific, and technical service stations on Việt Nam’s southern continental shelf. VNS
